Get On the Same Page with the Forsyth County Public Library during its community read celebration

Ray McMillian has a musical gift and a dream to become a world-class professional violinist, and nothing will stand in his way: not the racism he faces inside the world of classical music, or his self-serving mother, or even his well-loved but hand-me-down fiddle. When that fiddle turns out to be a priceless Stradivarius and all his dreams are within his grasp, the violin is stolen on the eve of an international competition. Can he uncover the violin conspiracy? Can you? Find out by being part of On the Same Page, the Forsyth County Public Library's Community Read.

"The Violin Conspiracy is the perfect choice for the 2024 On the Same Page Community Read," said Forsyth County Public Library Director Yolanda F. Bolden. "The novel’s main character and author have roots in North Carolina. Throughout the story are universal themes of racism, family, and the power of mentors. Most notably, artistic threads run through the book and our City of Arts and Innovation. We’re thrilled to share this novel, this author, and these shared experiences with our community."

The University of North Carolina School of the Arts and Z. Smith Reynolds Library at Wake Forest University are partners in this year's celebration, and on Tuesday, Oct. 15, Brendan Slocumb will visit the Central Library, UNCSA's library and ZSR to close out On the Same Page with discussions, Q and As, book signings, and even a performance at UNCSA.
