Forsyth County looking for groups to host Naloxone Wall Units

Forsyth County Government is requesting proposals from organizations interested in housing one of twenty-five Naloxone Wall Units.

Naloxone, also known as Narcan, is a lifesaving medication that reverses opioid overdoes. The 25 Naloxone wall units, each containing 50 Naloxone boxes, will be distributed throughout Forsyth County with a priority on areas frequented by marginalized and minority community members and areas that frequently experience a disproportionate number of overdoses. Places with easy public access are prioritized.

Organizations will be responsible for installing the wall units, which have no electronics, moving parts or money taking features. The units are 26” tall x 17” wide x 7” deep and weigh 35 pounds. Organizations will be responsible for monthly reports on the units, letting the county known when they need to be refilled and uninstalling them if the organization’s relationship with the county ends. Naloxone is provided by Forsyth County Government with no cost to the host organization. Assistance is available for installation costs.
