Forsyth Public Health receives donated CPR training kits

The American Heart Association presented Forsyth Public Health staff with 17 CPR Anytime Kits donated by W.R. Vernon Produce on May 24.

CPR Anytime Kits include a mini-CPR dummy and materials that can teach an adult or child how to use CPR. Public Health staff will be using the donated kits out as they’re out in the community for events and home visits to perform one-on-one and group CPR demonstrations.

“The more people that know CPR, the more lives that will be saved,” said Forsyth Public Health Director Joshua Swift.

Forsyth Emergency Medical Services demonstrated CPR using one of the kits during the donation event. The patient care goal for Forsyth Emergency Services for 2024 is to improve outcomes from cardiac arrest. CPR performed by bystanders can dramatically increase the chances of cardiac arrest survival. Since 70 percent of cardiac arrests happen at home, it’s important for everyone to know CPR.
