ForsythRides, Forsyth County’s employment transportation service, is relaunching with program changes on July 1st. ForsythRides is funded by the North Carolina Department of Transportation through their Rural Operating Assistance Program (ROAP) Employment funds. Halfway through a four-month pilot period, the program has provided over 1,000 safe and reliable trips to work for more than 40 individuals. Changes to the program are based on feedback and observations from this pilot period. ForsythRides is funded by the North Carolina Department of Transportation through their Rural Operating Assistance Program (ROAP) Employment funds.
Starting July 1st, ForsythRides will operate a cohort-based model, providing individuals transportation to and from work for three months. This time will also incorporate community resources to address root issues of transportation access. The changes to the program are intended to provide a more holistic and higher quality of service to participants. Applications are available at ForsythRides.com and are open May 8th – June 7th.
