The employees who work on Forsyth County Government’s vehicle fleet are on the cover of the latest issue of The Municipal magazine for an article focusing on the county’s use of automated vehicle sharing technology for its employee vehicles.
This program let the county immediately cut 30 vehicles from its fleet while meeting the needs of its fleet users, allowed the county to decrease its budget by $300,000 for nonemergency vehicles and cut personal mileage reimbursement by more than 50% annually. It has also reduced vehicle administrative costs for the county’s departments and standardized cleaning, maintenance and other processes by transitioning vehicles from individual departments to centralized motor pools.
