New Online Vital Records Request System

In an ongoing effort to provide better customer service to citizens of Forsyth County, the Register of Deeds office has launched a new online order and payment system. The system called Permitium, can be used to purchase certified copies of vital records. Certified copies are $10 each.

Customers who use the system will be charged a convenience fee of $3.00, a 35¢ optional fee for vital verify if receiving the copy by mail, a 75¢ postage and handling fee, and a credit card courtesy fee of 30¢, plus 2.9% of the total.

There was no cost to the citizens of Forsyth County to implement this new system.

The web address for online orders is: https://forsythrod.permitium.com and it can be accessed through the Forsyth County ROD Website.

Permitium offers the following features:

• Customers are notified of the receipt of the online application via automated emails or optional text messaging.
• Customers can check the status of their order on the Register of Deeds website using their order number, email address and password (created during the ordering process).
• The system offers enhanced security measures which will ensure a secure transaction and help protect customers from ID theft.

Register of Deeds, Norman Holleman stated: “This new system will help Forsyth County residents order Vital Record copies over the internet, and pay by credit card. When our office receives these requests they will be filled right away and mailed back to the requestor.”
